Patrizia Vigni is Associate Professor of International Law at the Department of Business and Law of the University of Siena since October 2018.

Senior Researcher at the Law Department of the University of Siena from 2001 to 2018.

Degree in Law, University of Siena, 1992, Magister Juris, University of Oxford, 1996, Doctorate in International Law, University of Siena, 1998.

Appointed Lecturer of several courses at the Law Faculty of the University of Siena from 2001 to 2018, such as EU Law, International Organizations, International Dispute Settlement.

Main research fields: the Antarctic Treaty System, the interaction between treaty regimes, State compliance with international treaties on human rights, international dispute settlement, the law of the sea, diplomatic and consular protection, EU citizenship, the protection of cultural heritage.

Legal advisor to the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs with regard to the negotiations concerning the Antarctic Treaty until 2014.
